A Symphony of White

Hope your week is going well! I'm swimming in a sea of bed linens all this week, either at an actual shoot, or doing post production. Whew. This is a giant job. I love Ami Mckay, so it makes it easy!

If you've been reading my blog for a bit, you know that I shoot a variety of homes for magazines. Thought I'd share a very white one with you. Personally, I'm not "tidy" enough to pull of all that white ;)
The homeowners, Trish (owner of Principessa) and Angelo, designed and built the house. How does one build one's own home? I wish I had that skill. They have since sold it, and are working on their new home right next door to this one. Apparently it's going to be quite different than this one. Looking forward to seeing what they come up with.

What are your thoughts on white? What's your home style? I'd love to know!

Back soon,
Janis

I adore white but don't think I could live in an all white house, especially with a crayon-wielding 2.5 year old around. You get such beautiful natural light there on the west coast, and mixed with white interiors, it just looks heavenly.

I'm going with white in the 60's Splendour, but walls only. All the furniture/textiles certainly keep the colour factor going. I always admire all white, but like you janis, i just know i could never do it justice.

I'm a huge fan of white walls too, Jules.
Jen, I've been told that all white is great if you have toddlers as it's easy to clean. Yeah, I don't buy it either ;)

I used to hate the idea of white walls but now that I have so much art (both mine and others) it makes sense. I looove the photo with the pink soda....such a pretty palette!

I love the look of this, but I almost think it's too much white? I dunno. I'm torn. But mostly jealous. :)

I wouldn't want to live in this house -I'd have to get rid of my dogs-but I'd love to visit.

It's a beautiful home but I think it's a bit too perfect for me ;-) We have a lot of grey tones on the walls and color in most of the decor. I'm always re-designing spaces here and there. Eclectic is definitely our thing.

HOLY COW! I love they way they've done the white. It's not the same as others I've seen. That bathtub just kILLS me..and the chandeliers. Wow! Great home :)

I LOVE white, but like to soften it with neutrals and natural elements, with just a hint of black. White is only possible with kids because of the almighty slipcover! ;)

Beautiful pics Janis!

i adore white, particularly with linen shades, but i like things to be very textured, with lots of roughness and age, i love chalky old european furniture with just a few touches of modern shape and clean lines… i also adore handmade and some wonky things - so while i'd love to visit this uncluttered space i'd rather live with more layers and imperfection! xx

I love white! But not a cold, modern interior - more like this one with pretty accents, texture and sparkle and some rough, rustic pieces thrown in. I'm dying to get the white slipcovers made for my club chairs and sofa! :)

I'm big on white too. But I throw around some Indian rugs and some ethnic bits from my travels or someone elses, and throw in some vintage. I love old pine.

This house is gorgeous...love it.

White walls will be blank canvases for you to hang beautiful pieces of decoration on them. I LOVE white walls, Janis :D. Btw, it will make small rooms seem bigger and more elegant :)
